In 2024, we commemorate the 80th anniversary of the D-Day Landings and the Liberation of France and Europe. At Maison de la Normandie et de la Manche, we pay tribute to this significant event by presenting a special exhibition in our shop windows.
Visitors can explore a curated selection of drawings created by children from schools in La Manche who participated in the drawing competition marking the 80th anniversary of the D-Day Landings, organised by the County of La Manche. Preserving the memory of 6 June 1944 is paramount, and these artworks reflect the dedication of youth to uphold the remembrance of these historic events. Some of the drawings are showcased at Maison de Normandie , while others are exhibited at the Alliance Française in Jersey until the end of July.
In addition to these displays, our display also features period artifacts on loan from the World War II Museum in Quinéville, Utah Beach, offering visitors a tangible connection to this pivotal era.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our partners, the Département of La Manche and the World War II Museum in Quinéville, whose collaboration made this exhibition possible.
