In 2024, we celebrate the 150th anniversary of Impressionism, a movement that emerged in 1874 with a groundbreaking exhibition featuring renowned painters such as Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Claude Monet, Edgard Degas, and many others.
Normandy served as a magnificent playground for many of these artists in the late 19th century. The display at Maison de Normandie pays tribute to some of those iconic locations in Normandy that inspired many Impressionist painters. Have a look at the presentation of those locations right here.
This year, the festival “Normandie Impressionniste” is back from 22 March to 22 September with more than 150 events planned all around Normandy.
Come have a look at our display to get inspired and find out more about Impressionism before heading to the website: Normandie Impressionniste to see all the wonderful events planned this year in Normandy.
